WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
Sentry One's mission is to be the most trusted and respected service for document destruction in our markets. Customer service and satisfaction is our goal. Protection of one's identity and privacy is of utmost importance to our company.
Our Background
The owner of Sentry One Shredding was first introduced to growing concerns for personnel and business identity security during his more than 15 years of law enforcement experience. His lengthy law enforcement experience has fostered strong beliefs in fortified Federal protection against all forms of consumer fraud, which assists each individual in preventing identity theft and the associated cost that burdens its victims. As the previous owner and operator of a junk removal service, he was often requested by commercial and residential customers to dispose of discriminating information. Many clients, friends and associates he talked to told him the horrors of their identity theft situations and he realized that this was an important concern in many communities. He decided he wanted to be a part of the solution.
Our Commitment
Sentry One Shredding is committed to providing secure, on-site document shredding to our world community. Our goal is to use state of the art equipment and procedures which provides reasonable measures of document disposal. We also plan to create excellent employment opportunities in the community and foster long lasting business relations in the communities we service.
Sentry One Shredding has assembled a team of experienced security and business personnel integrating into over twenty five years of business experience.
WHY WE ALL NEED TO SHRED
Theft, vandalism, and industrial espionage are becoming ever increasing security problems. There are too many horror stories resulting from confidential information getting into the wrong hands. Today's information
explosion can be devastating to a business or the individual. With the increased use of office/ home copiers and computers, staggering amounts of sensitive information is being generated and carelessly discarded.
Companies shred materials to keep sensitive information confidential. They also shred material to eliminate the costs associated with long-term storage.
The market for the mobile shredding services is comprised of any business or residence concerned with the handling of confidential information. Medical records, marketing strategies, financial statements, bank records, classified records, client and patient records, personnel records, student records, payroll records, government documents, police files, and blue prints are just some of the examples of confidential documents needing secure destruction. All are potential powder kegs if confidential information becomes public.
• Security: On-site document destruction services is the safest, most
secure, and convenient means of disposing of your sensitive documents. Our bonded employees will take a customer's classified documents from the designed bins that either we provide or the customer already has directly to the mobile shredding unit where the material will be destroyed. A certificate of destruction will be provided with each invoice.
• Efficiency: The high-speed shredder mounted on our truck will shred 6000 pounds per hour, more than 300 times faster than average
office shredders, reducing a customer's costs of shredding more than 55%.
Corporations have a moral and legal responsibility to safeguard the public trust. Failure to do so may result in loss of goodwill, loss of business, loss of income, and could result in criminal and/ or civil legations.
Identity theft/consumer fraud is the nation's fastest growing crime according to FBI statistics and has become the career criminal's weapon of choice against sociality. Shredding personal and confidential information is derigueur if companies or citizens are serious about protecting their interest.
And since the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act went into effect in July 2005 businesses that possess records with consumer information must properly store and dispose of them, companies small and large have increasingly been outsourcing their shredding needs. With detection, apprehension and prosecution [of thieves] being so difficult, prevention is the first line of defense for the common citizen.
Dunn's Review estimates corporate espionage cost U.S. businesses over $7 billion in losses yearly! Outdated or inactive company files can also become damaging once they have reached their legal limits of retention. Shredding this information protects a company's against potential lawsuits.
The 1974 Federal Privacy Act was established to insure the government agencies protect the privacy of individuals and businesses with regard to information held by them and holds these agencies liable if any information is released without authorization.
Recent laws passed by Congress (HIPAA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley) suggest that paper documents containing personal information should be protected and safely destroyed.
The Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) security and privacy rules became effective 04/14/03 and many medical institutions are rapidly moving ahead to meet compliance. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act took effect July 2001 and affects financial and insurance institutions requiring better protection of customers' confidential information
In today's increasingly competitive and litigation plagued business environment, most prudent companies develop strict record management practices. An integral part of records management is the secure disposal of outdated (and potentially damaging) documents. Residential homeowners should find these practices wise to emulate.
Until recently document destruction has been handled by in-house shredders, off-site shredder companies, or recyclers. Now high volume and mobile on-site confidential document destruction services are changing the way companies dispose of sensitive information.
America's trash is a great source for financial and personal catastrophe. It's an unimaginable nightmare for most people, and a nefarious windfall for the growing tanks of scavengers and identity thieves currently farming today's trash.
